Week 4 Writing Process: Wrapping up what I did at the start of the semester for the first couple weeks, our class has been helpful engaging more with writing assignments making me a better writer and thinker and helped me get a 8.5/10 on my analysis essay. One thing that has helped me a lot is feedback. Not only feedback from my teacher but also feedback from my peers. It helped me throughout this whole semester. Two things that are confusing to me are my citations, I am not that good using citations especially in essays. Another thing that is confusing to me is my portfolio. I barely know how to work it and it is confusing and something new. I would like to improve in all the places I need to improve in.

Week 6 Rhetorical Situation of LA: The rhetorical situation of my learning Analysis essay was about explaining how I learned from my mistakes and how I improved in aspects to avoid making the same mistakes over and over again. My essay genre is an academic genre. The purpose was to grow from my mistakes/experiences and show how I went past it. My audience was my classmates and professors. The context came from problems or struggles I faced in life trying to do new things. I reached my goals because I went past the issues I’ve had and now it wouldn’t be an issue now and it was very well explained in the essay. I think this essay helped me understand about thinking more and myself as a writer.

Week 7- Annotating Research:

The article I annotated was about how slavery still has an effect in the world today. While I was annotating, I found important facts I quoted and used that supported my topic. Annotating helped me, by keeping me well organized and having an easy access page to see and remember what I’ve been working on. It also helped me understand the article better and made me think more about it. One thing I need to work on is my conclusion paragraph and the placement of my thesis statement.

Week 8 – One Learning Object:

One learning Objective I have improved on this semester is annotation and organization. When I first started notes would be all over the place without organization and it would make my thinking process worse. I improved in finding good informational sources and especially with organization I’ve never felt as organized with my work in my life. I also improved in my thinking before writing and my revisions.

Week 9- Research Sources:

For my research, I used a trusted website, educational articles/sources, and different websites that circled around the same topic. Using different sources made me see other people’s perspectives or things in their pov about slavery and how it still affects the world today. The

educational articles gave me facts and quotes, while case studies went more deeper into specific things. Using multiple sources made it easier for me to finish and find evidence for my essay. It also let me see both perspectives of a slave and a non slave, or a colored and a non colored and what they think about today.

Week 10 Integrating Theory:

One theory related to my proposal is that it changes the way people view the world and history of these people and how unfairly treated they still are till this day. This theory helps me think more deeply about how life is for these people and to try to think in their shoes in their perspectives and lives. What has been confusing is the portfolio still and working access with it since my account has had an issue. Another confusing thing is sometimes the sources because finding certain information about how it connects to the present day isn’t easy and all these sources aren’t reliable. I will acquire the knowledge working on my own time and doing things my own way but a way that will still benefit me.Week 11/12 Rhet Sit of Research Informed Essay:

The rhetorical situation of my research essay was how unfair it was for colored people over time and over the years, first they were enslaved, laws were put against them, once emancipated they were treaty very unfairly and segregation laws were a thing, now they are treated unfairly and a lot of people abuse their power against these coloreds. I wrote my essay explaining both perspectives, and I wrote it so readers can understand the repetitive issue and see how it’s been going on the past few years and has been continuous for many years. My audience includes my professor and the students in my class/ my peers. I used very informative sources and examples and evidence. I wrote clearly so my audience can understand clearly.

Week 13 Argument Evolution:

My argument focused originally on how slavery is bad and how it continues in today’s world. I don’t think there’s a positive or a good way to put slavery in so I didn’t really make an argumentative paragraph or section but I did write about how people thought it was good and was helpful such as, not doing the work themselves and labor and so can go on.

Week 15- Uses of Information:

My research essay and MMT are connected because they both are basically the same thing. My research essay is more informative but my MMT is just the simplicity of my research essay, all the paragraphs summarized into a sentence. My research essay is more focused on explaining it all. Examples, Evidence, explanations, analysis, and quotes. The MMT was something way easier to see, and it also had dates and dos for my presentation. So when it’s due and what I have to do.   In the MMT I wrote so everybody can be hooked and see the layout. The essay I wrote for the people who want to dig into more information, for my audience who wants to learn more about my topic. Both assignments helped me learn how to be organized and helped me communicate.

Week 16- Your writing Growth

This semester, I learned that writing is like an art. Sometimes you let your brain flow and go but when it comes to writing about information and things people want to learn, you need to write like you’re explaining to someone who has never heard of the subject in their life and is interested in it. I learned that writing shouldn’t be rushed and should be planned specifically if it’s informative. I got better at organization, planning, ideas , explaining and writing overall. I also learned how important it is to receive feedback. Feedback helped me a lot and showed specific areas on where I needed to improve. Compared to the beginning of the semester I feel so much better and fluent and I feel way more confident in my writing now. I’m not the best writer but I feel very much improved.

3 artifacts that helped me write this.

1.I learned how to reflect on my progress and recognize both my strengths and areas where I need improvement. Writing semi-weekly reflections helped me become more aware of my personal growth.

2.I learned the importance of consistency and time management. Reflecting every two weeks encouraged me to stay organized and keep track of my goals and responsibilities.

3.I learned how to express my thoughts and experiences more clearly. Regular reflections improved my communication skills and helped me explain my feelings, challenges, and achievements in a thoughtful way.
